Course Description
Change in social work and social care is constant – new regulations, evolving service user needs, workforce pressures, technological advances. Yet the majority of change initiatives fail. Not because the ideas are wrong, but because the implementation is poor. Resistance builds, momentum stalls and quality of care suffers.
This course will give you a clear and helpful practical roadmap for getting change right. You will learn how to assess the need for change, build a guiding team, create a shared vision and embed new ways of working so that they last. The eight-step framework – adapted from John Kotter’s classic ‘Leading Change’ model – is tailored specifically to the realities of social work and social care, where vulnerable service users, regulatory constraints and tight resources all shape what is possible.
Drawing on guidance from Skills for Care, MyHomeLife and other respected sources, the course blends established change management theory with social care values and principles: person-centred practice, transparent communication, shared decision making and capacity building.
Whether you lead a care home, manage a social work team or work in service development, this course will equip you to plan, lead and sustain change that protects continuity of care and improves outcomes for everyone involved.
Who this course is for:
- For existing and aspiring managers in social work and across the broad spectrum of social care
