Transformative Thinking for yourself

1

Transformative Thinking for yourself, Reframe perfectionism, saying no, irritation, loss and the illusion of control.

Course Description

Everybody wants change, but nobody wants to change. And the tragedy is that we try to change the things we cannot change, and refuse to change the things we can.

This course is about the things you can. It takes the reframing method into your own life, one short lecture at a time — most of them under four minutes.

It starts with change itself: why we do most of what we do for no good reason, how much of your behaviour is still running on scripts from your childhood, why culture is a frame you did not choose, and why you can only ever change yourself. Then it works through the places this bites hardest.

Your self-image: perfectionism, and the relief of becoming an imperfectionist. You are good enough. Nobody is thinking about you as much as you fear. Pain, and what it is for.

Your decisions: how to say no, why the joy of missing out beats the fear of it, what happens when you turn off auto-renewal on the commitments in your life, and how you actually think about money.

And acceptance: irritations, chores, loss, the present moment, the illusion of control, and what turns out to be the key to a happy life.

You can watch these in order or dip into whichever one catches you. Each is self-contained, and each ends somewhere you can act.

If you have taken my course Reframing your life, this is its fuller successor — same method, far more ground. For the method taught properly, take Transformative Thinking: the method. The written versions are in my book, Transformative Thinking.
