100% OFF- Waste Hero: Recycling & Circular economy for educators

Waste Hero is an initiative educate about recycling, circular economies, and the importance of recycling.  This Course is designed to inspire action and understanding around recycling and sustainability. It features three engaging video lessons, each supported by an interactive quiz and free, ready-to-use lesson plan materials for educators to extend learning in the classroom.

Lesson 1: What is Recycling?
Covers the basics—what materials are recyclable, how to sort and prepare them correctly, and practical tips to prevent recyclables from ending up in landfills.

Lesson 2: Why We Should Recycle
Explores the environmental impact of waste, including landfill pollution, ocean leakage, and the benefits of recycling. Learners discover how recycled materials are transformed into new products, reducing the demand for raw resources.

Lesson 3: Circular and Linear Economies
Introduces these two economic models, explaining how to transition from a wasteful linear system to a sustainable circular one. Examples of common circular business types show real-world applications.

Lesson 4: Waste Audit

Detailed instructions on how to preform a waste audit to measure recycling efficiency and impact

Lesson 5: Informal Waste Workers

An article detailing informal waste workers and their role in the circular economy.  Often overlook, but a major component of the world waste system.  It also includes ways to support this sector.
