Are your projects tracked across Excel, MS Project, email and texts from the super? This course shows you, step by step, how to run a construction project from start to finish in one tool: from the schedule to the budget, from cost tracking to financial progress, all the way to closeout.
We start from an empty account and build a real project together: a multi-unit residential building. Each module runs 1 to 8 minutes and covers one task, so you can easily come back to exactly what you need.
What you will do in this course:
• Break the project down into a WBS and build the budget by cost code
• Build the schedule: Gantt chart, task links, critical path and baseline
• Assign resources and track commitments (contracts and purchase orders)
• Update progress and plan the weeks ahead with the look-ahead
• Keep the site diary, photos, meetings, RFIs and risks
• Use field mode on your phone
• Track costs, earned value and cash flow
• Manage change orders and financial progress by period, including holdback
• Work with lump-sum, unit-price, cost-plus or construction management contracts
• Close out the project and export your reports
The course uses Teyvor, construction project management software in English and French. The methods (WBS, critical path, baseline, earned value, progress by period) apply whatever tool you use.
