OxfordAQA IGCSE Physics: P4 Terminal Velocity and Moments, Master drag forces, terminal velocity, centre of mass, moments and levers for OxfordAQA IGCSE Physics 9203.
Course Description
This course covers P4 Terminal Velocity and Moments from the OxfordAQA IGCSE Physics specification 9203 in full. Every lecture is built directly around the specification so there is nothing missing and nothing unnecessary.
P4 connects forces from P1 and P2 to new concepts that students often find confusing. Terminal velocity, moments and levers are topics that appear regularly on past papers and carry significant marks. Understanding these concepts properly makes a real difference to your overall grade.
In this course you will learn how drag forces act on moving objects and why they increase with speed. You will understand exactly what terminal velocity is, when an object reaches it, and how to read and interpret a terminal velocity graph. The course explains why parachutes work and how streamlining reduces drag in real-world applications.
You will learn how to find the centre of mass of objects, including the plumbline method for irregular shapes, and understand why the position of the centre of mass affects an object’s stability. The course covers moments in full, including the formula M = F x d and the principle of moments for balanced objects. You will apply these to solve exam-style calculations involving seesaws, levers and unknown forces.
The course finishes with levers as force multipliers, explaining why applying a force far from the pivot produces a large moment and how this makes everyday tasks easier.
Every lecture includes worked exam-style examples and exam technique tips. A practice quiz is linked in the resources section of each lecture on supermuneeeb so you can test yourself immediately after watching.
This course is taught by Muneeb Farooq, an IGCSE Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics specialist with 8 years of teaching experience across the UK, UAE, Bahrain and Pakistan.
Who this course is for:
- Students studying OxfordAQA IGCSE Physics 9203 who need structured revision for P4 Terminal Velocity and Moments
- IGCSE students who find terminal velocity graphs and moments calculations difficult and want clear step-by-step guidance
- Students who want to understand how drag, centre of mass and levers connect to forces from earlier in the course
